Born in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, James grapples with challenges that threaten to eclipse his potential. As the youngest of three children, he battles academic mediocrity, personal demons, and a search for purpose that takes him to the brink of despair.
DR. MICHAEL COPELAND
Michael Copeland, a Cleveland native, is an accomplished educator and community leader whose passion for supporting children in need was inspired by his dedication to fostering and education.
With a career spanning teaching, wraparound student support, and leadership roles in youth development, he currently serves as Chief of Staff at MyCom Cleveland while actively engaging in community initiatives. In addition to earning numerous accolades, including the Joe Biden Lifetime Presidential Achievement Award, he became a first-time author in 2024 with The Journey of One Determined Educator, which has won multiple prestigious awards.
